This past weekend's California Democratic Convention was packed with events and activity. The election of new party officers includes John Burton as our party's new chair. The delegates also had a chance to endorse the May 19th ballot issues. Much like with our organization, it was difficult for the state party to find consensus on them. On Wednesday, April 1st at 7pm the 6th AD Dems will be considering a number of endorsements including the ballot initiatives for the May 19th Special Election. Additionally, we will be considering endorsements of candidates for both California Democratic Party office and caucus offices for races decided at the State Convention at the end of April. We had a productive meeting last night. It began with a panel on the state budget and its impact on education in Marin and Sonoma counties. Many thanks to Andy Hyman, Sandra Lowe and Melanie Blake who participated in leading the discussion. The endorsements process for the California Democratic Party convention is well underway.
